What is Polarized light?
The colour spectrum is a series of light waves that move at different speeds - giving us the different colours. Polarization is a process of making those waves move in one directional plane only and focussing or concentrating them into a narrow beam.
How does that differ from a LASER Light?
The LASER uses only one colour wavelength which is 'amplified' or sped up according to requirements. It is a 'mono'chromatic light with one coherent wavelength. Bioptron is a 'poly'chromatic light using the full colour spectrum and because of the different speeds (400 - 2000nm) is incoherent.
It does not have the intensity, heat or power of a LASER.
Therefore it is in effect a cold, soft Laser.
What does Polarized Light do?
Polarized light stimulates the reactivation of cell functions in a process known as Biostimulation. The energy from the wavelengths assists the reactivation of cells where regenerative processes can take place again. Polarized light has a balancing effect on the cell membrane activities.This effect goes a step further than what happens through natural sunlight because waves from the sun are diffused and reach us from many angles.
When and where was Polarized light discovered?
The first LASER's that could achieve a biostimulation on human cells were developed in 1966. In 1981 a team of physicists and doctors conducting research into the medical laser in Hungary, came up with the idea of using the full colour spectrum that did not have the negative parameters of the Laser.The first such 'polarized' light was created in 1983 and sent to various medical centres around the world for testing. In 1988 the first BIOPTRON lights were manufactured for sale to medical & cosmetic clinics and to the public as a health care device.

What can the Bioptron be used for?
Humans, animals and plants are cellular in composition. The human body has between 70 and 120 trillion cells (age/size) and health disorders are reflected mainly by the health of our cells. The number of cells affected determines if we have a minor or major health problem.The polarized light can therefore be used to treat a wide variety of cellular problems affecting skin, tissue, blood and bone. Primarily it accelerates the healing process within the individual body by balancing the immune system of the blood and regenerating damaged cells.
So the Polarized Light is a magic cure-all?
Not at all. There are a number of things it cannot do such as reviving dead cells. It cannot reverse some forms of degeneration which have been caused by drugs or old age. But it does help to relieve the pain and assist the body to regulate circulation, lymphatic drainage and balance the immune system.It can be used on more than 60 common complaints and when used in conjunction with the colour lenses can change the energy cycles of the body that cause depression, lack of sleep, stress and digestion problems.
Is it possible to apply the light incorrectly?
The effects of the light will be reduced only if:
1: It is not applied to bare skin
2: It is held too far away - about 2.5cm (2-3 fingers) is ideal
3: If it is not held at 90 degrees from the skin. This slants the beam and reduces the penetration depth.
4: For best results the light and skin should be steady. Use the stand and keep the treated area still.
When using colour lenses it is recommended that the light be positioned first, then turned on and when
the desired time has elapsed, turned off before moving the light away.
Energy centres on the body are quite small but waving a colour over another
energy field of the body might negate the treatment effect.
Times for colour are specific because 1 minute 'tonifies'; 2 minutes 'sedates' and 3 minutes 'subdues' energy in the specific area.
Most colour programs aim to sedate energy fields that are overactive (ie: stress areas)
Why are there different sized lights?
In most cases the Compact is perfectly suitable for treatment. However there are some forms of injury that
require coverage of a larger area or a need to cover a whole area in a given time - mostly due to time constraints in a professional environment. For economic reasons two bigger sizes have been created -
The PRO has an 11cm diameter lens (one side of a human face size); the B2 has a 15cm lens and can cover the whole face.
A new model PRO arrived in mid 2007 that also offers Colour lenses. These are designed for specific use by professional colour therapists and cannot be used on small chakra points for composite programmes.

Can the light be used too often?
No. The effect cannot be significantly increased by applying more often or for longer than described in the Bioptron Light Therapy booklet. The body will absorb as much energy as it needs to work with at a given time. This is usually between 2 and 8 minutes ONLY and usually only once a day.
There will be NO side effects if the light is used longer - only a waste of electricity!!
Must I consult my doctor before using the light?
No, but if no notable improvement can be achieved after 2 or 3 treatments then consult your doctor, physician or beauty consultant who have experience using the Bioptron. Senior Zepter agents may also be consulted as many come from a natural healing background. In some countries outside of Europe the medical profession have not yet fully embraced the Light Therapy treatments and many doctors in
New Zealand have not yet heard about it.

How long before I see or notice a difference?
Generally this will depend on the type of problem, how long it has been there and the age of the person. However in thousands of cases the results have been almost instantaneous - especially with pain relief.
As a general indication:
Wound healing : 2-3 days
Allergies : 2-3 days
Arthritis: Pain relief in days, mobility within a week
Pain : 1 minute to 1 or 2 days
Viruses : 3-4 days
Acne : varies but from 7 days to 3 weeks
Psoriasis: varies but from 2 to 4 weeks
Wrinkles, Scars: up to 2 months
Leg Ulcers : between 3-4 months (3 stages of healing)
Migraines : 6 minutes to half an hour
Torn tendons/ligaments Within 7 to 14 days
How often can I use the Light?
For acute cases 2 x per day is sufficient.
For severe cases every 2-3 hours.
For chronic (long term) cases daily or 3-4 times a week.
With severe pain it is recommended that only a 2 minute treatment be given initially as the discomfort from a 'healing crisis' can be as acute as the original pain. Longer periods of treatment are best only after the healing crisis is over. If sharp pains are felt at any time, turn the light off and wait a few hours before treating again.
How long should treatment last and what is the best time of day?
Morning and evening are the best times but more important is that you have time for the treatment and can relax while applying the light.The Compact emits a beep every 2 minutes (one interval).
The PRO and B2 have preset timers with automatic turn-off.
WOUND HEALING: 3-4 intervals per therapy session (6-8 minutes)
SKIN PROBLEMS: 3-4 intervals per therapy session (6-8 minutes)
PAIN: 3 intervals (unless severe then only 1) Blue lens can be used for 3 mins
SKIN IRRITATION: 2-3 intervals (4-6 minutes)
WRINKLES: 2 or 3 intervals per session.
Is the Bioptron guaranteed to be totally safe?
1. Is it harmful to the eyes?
No - the Bioptron is used extensively for eye problems including Glaucoma, Macular degeneration. Corneal detachment and Cataracts. Close the eyelid softly when using - the light penetrates up to 2.5cm so will pass through the eyelid easily. 2-4 minutes only per eye is recommended. Remove contact lenses first.
2. Does the Bioptron have any harmful side effects?
No side effects have ever been reported during nearly 20 years of medical and scientific research.
There is no ultra-violet light in the Bioptron spectrum so there is no tanning or heat effect on the skin.
3. Is this similar to the Infra Red heat lamp?
Not at all. Whilst the spectrum of the Bioptron contains a fractional amount of Infra-red the wave length of Infra-red is much broader. Warming at skin level is often a sign that the cellular system is taking in the electro-magnetic energy and using it immediately to effect changes.
4. Could the light cause cancer in any way?
NO !! The dangerous light range for cancer is low UV at 250nm - the Bioptron's lowest range is 400nm.
Was the Light system tested and is it prescribed by medical doctors?
Many medical institutes around the world have helped to develop the safe and effective Bioptron Linear Polarized light. It is winning praise, use and recognition amongst physicians, physiotherapists, nurses, naturopaths, vets and beauticians around the world.

require the need to travel frequently and extensively. At present we are not A.C.C. approved.
That is why the Bioptron can be purchased - it is more economical over a long period to own one
and treat yourself when you want to or need to. And to treat family, pets and neighbours.
Your personal Bioptron Agent may also agree to do treatments at your home on a regular basis
(at a cost) but their primary purpose is to promote home ownership of the Lights.
Why isn't it advertised?
Bioptron is a unique medical device that straddles both the natural & medical healing fields.
The parent company (Zepter International) have elected to promote Bioptron to the public
through fully trained field Agents in each country.
Ailments can often be embarassing or of a personal nature and every individual is different.
It is easier to talk to an Agent personally rather than responding to an advert through
impersonal contacts who you may never meet. Your Agent stays with you for life as a mentor,
confidant and personal advisor and is available to talk to your personal friends as well.

What guarantees do I have if I buy a light?
The light is mechanically warranted for 1 year and the bulb is estimated to have a
minimum of 2000 hours of life (about 5 years of daily use)
Under the Commerce Act a light may be returned within 7 days of purchase if you are
not satisfied with its performance.
(Please bear in mind that some conditions may take longer than 7 days to improve
- your age and length of time you have had the problem must be taken into consideration -
it has been medically proven that some changes will happen )
Damage to a light caused by accidental droppage or misuse is not covered under the guarantee.
Repairs are done in Auckland and you should contact your personal Agent for assistance.
